KEYNOTE SPEAKER JERRY JACOBY

OK. Bachelor and Masters of Music Ed from
Wayne State University, High School Band
Director for eight years (Farmington, West
Bloomfield) and twenty-five years as fulltime
motivational speaker, including over 700 Middle
School audiences. But you don’t care about
that so, if you don’t mind, let’s just skip it.
Here’s what we’re going to do. First, we’re going
to laugh and sing and have fun. (Although
teaching middle school kids is pretty much
utopia, it can still be a stressful gig so we all
need to unwind.) Then I’m going to tell about
one of my life’s toughest trials (I’ve had many
but the others are none of your business.) and
its resolution, which all happened standing
at a microphone in front of 500 middle
school kids. It ain’t a pretty story but it’s true,
encouraging (I hope) and the main reason
middle school audiences are my favorite.
